UNEP held a training course on the implementation of UNEP’s approach to Sustainable Public Procurement* (SPP) for national focal points for SPP and experts from three partner countries, Azerbaijan, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. As partner of the “Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood” (EaP GREEN) partnership project, UNEP is leading the implementation of project activity components on SPP, which aims at changing public consumption and stimulating innovation and ensuring more sustainable goods and services.

The training course introduced participants to UNEP’s approach to SPP, provided them with the required level of knowledge for introducing this approach in their countries and gave them an opportunity to exchange experience in public procurement. At the end of the course, they drew up preliminary work plans on applying the approach.
