11  ON THE GROUND

UN staff swap office #withnature too

Picnics organised by UN Environment in Geneva and Brussels connected staff with nature for a brief respite amid World Environment Day preparations and kick off a series to be repeated.

Michael Møller - Director General of the UN’s Office in Geneva - and UN Environment Regional Director Jan Dusik invited staff to take their lunch to Ariana park in the grounds of Geneva’s Palais des Nations in the run-up to 5 June.

There, the picnic-goers were lucky to be joined by a further special guest. You never know what nature will bring to such a simple-sounding occasion!

Meanwhile, “the fresh air and sun gave us extra positive energy and enhanced creative thinking,” noted Alexa Froger from UN Environment’s Brussels Office at that picnic, where special t-shirts were also unveiled for 5 June.
