ICSD meeting in May

UNEP is to again support a meeting of the Interstate Commission on Sustainable Development (ICSD) scheduled to take place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on 10-12 May.

The ICSD remains an invaluable partner for UNEP in coordinating region-wide knowledge exchange and action on environment and sustainable development.

This event will allow for stock to be taken of progress and outline future steps for UNEP’s work on environmental governance, green economy, chemicals management, as well as sustainable consumption and production in the Central Asian sub-region. It will also provide a timely opportunity to prepare Central Asian states for the upcoming Eighth Environment for Europe Ministerial Conference, and second meeting of the UN Environment Assembly.

The meeting will be attended by experts and government officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as by regional and international organisations.

For more information, please contact Ms. Natalia Alexeeva, Head of the UNEP Sub-Regional Office for Central Asia at: natalia.alexeeva@unep.org
