Children and young people with disabilities from ‘Maria’s Children’ boarding schools and orphanages enjoyed excursions to Moscow Zoo organised by UNEP’s office in the Russian capital on 18 and 19 June.

During the trip, the Zoo’s Scientific and Educational Centre taught the children about animals, a huge biological diversity of fauna, specific features of particular species and their vulnerability. The children – most of whom were visiting a zoo for the first time – also learned about UNEP and World Environment Day.
