World Environment Day in Geneva | |
Geneva's 2015 World Environment Day celebrations are coordinated by the Geneva Environment Network Secretariat team, with the contribution of various international governmental and non-governmental organizations and local authorities. As part of the celebrations, events have been organised over three days starting Wednesday 3 June with an Environmental Quizz. On Thursday, 4 June, there will be a UNOG Library talk presenting the Garbage Patch State, followed by a Ciné-ONU screening of the movie "Virunga" at the Maison de la Paix, inside the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. On Friday 5 June, a Geneva Environment Network Rountable on Sustainable Procurement will take place in the morning at the International Environment House. This will be preceded by a breakfast and the authorities official speeches. As it is now a tradition, Eldora cafétérias in the Geneva area are proposing a green menu on that day. In the afternoon, UNECE colleagues are organizing a celebration including a speech on Climate, a film on waste and a cartoon exhibition. Details on the various activities and more are to be announced soon on www.jme-ge.ch For more information: diana.rizzolio@unep.org |
